Everyday Math Assessments
Kindergarten
3 times a year, I conduced math assessments provided by the Everyday Math curriculum. This helped me create and differentiate lessons for my students based on their needs and gaps of understanding.
Student Teaching Math Lesson
Pre-K
In May of 2021, I was placed at Faraday Elementary School in East Garfield Park for my pre-k student teaching. One of the lessons I created and taught during this time was a lesson on shapes. Because I did not know the students developmental snapchat/prior knowledge on shapes, I pre-assessed the students. Then, I used that information to create my lesson plan. During the lesson, I taught the studies how to count the sides of a 2D shape and how to sort 2D shapes by counting the sides of each shape.
Below is the lesson plan, pre-assessment, introduction slides, and a slideshow of the materials used for the lesson.
