Internship SEL Lesson Plan
During my internship at Drummond Montessori Magnet School, I taught monthly extension lessons for the Second Step curriculum. Here is a lesson plan, using the ASCA model template, of my Early Childhood lesson on Attention Skills.
Text Set: Emotion Identification & Regulation
In my Summer 2025 class at Loyola University, Advanced Literacy Instruction , I created a scaffolded text set for elementary school students on the topics of emotion idetification and regulation. The slidshow below includes an intro about emotion education and why research has backed up its affectiveness for student growth inside and outside of the classroom. After, you will see eight books separated into four sections: naming & identifying emotions, understanding what emotions feel like in our bodies, understanding others’ emotions (empathy), and regulating emotions & coping strategies.
